Bishop Niall and many of the faithful have travelled to Lourdes in these days.
The annual Ossory Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes recommenced on May 23 last following a number of pandemic interrupted years. Work to prepare for this pilgrimage was begun last September and thanks to the great efforts of the organising committee all the final plans were in place before their departure on Tuesday Last.
The Diocesan pilgrimage will take place over five days and travelling this year along with Bishop Niall are many front line workers who have done so much to care for people throughout the covid pandemic. Given some restrictions the numbers travelling this year is somewhat reduced but interest remained strong and it is hoped that in future years normal numbers will return.
Those who are travelling with take part in the usual moments of prayer and reflections in Lourdes and at the Grotto in these days. They will light candles for the many intentions that they carry with them on our behalf.
In these days of pilgrimage we will hold them in our prayers knowing the carry us in theirs. May our Lady of Lourdes, comforter of the sick, be with our Diocese during these pilgrim days.
