Training our Diocese
The National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland (NBSCCCI) in their guidance state that all persons, clerical and lay, who are engaged in delivering services/ministering to children are required to undertake the NBSCCCI full day training programme on commencement of their role. And do refresher training every three years.
The training schedule for Autumn/Winter 2025 is below.
Training is free of charge to participants. Booking is essential as places are limited. Enquiries and bookings can be made by emailing safeguarding@ossory.ie or phoning 085-8021633. All personnel employed or volunteering in their parish should be invited to complete a Safeguarding Information session.
Please note that if there are a large number of staff, volunteers, etc. in your parish who require training and you wish to request a specific event in your parish or pastoral area, don’t hesitate to let me know and I will endeavour to facilitate this, especially if your parish is in the north or south of the diocese and Kilkenny is not a convenient venue.
